Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, one of Canada’s largest gaming and entertainment companies, is making its way back into the game after a recent cyberattack that resulted in a two-week shutdown of its IT systems. With 29 gaming properties in British Columbia and Ontario and another two in Edmonton, Alberta, Gateway is slowly returning to the field with a phased reopening of its 14 Ontario properties.
Gateway Casinos Innisfil was the first to join the game, followed by Gateway Casinos London and Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach, with the remaining locations set to reopen in “the coming days”. While the company has not yet confirmed whether personal information was compromised during the cyberattack, Gateway has assured its patrons that they are working with third-party experts to determine the impacts, if any.
