Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation at a nursing home
Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The documentary “The Mole Agent” is powerful because it evokes something very similar in people, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling very modestly as: “I have to call my mother.” We tried to do the same with the tone of our show: basically, does our show contribute to the feeling of calling our mothers?
I liked it!
It’s a remake of El Agent Topo (2020).
What I expected was a clichéd comedy about someone being undercover, the antics of a crazy person, and so on
Instead, we have a series about a man who not only helped others, but also helped himself after losing his wife.
This great series wasn’t full of corny jokes and jokes, I found myself quite emotional in some episodes because of the way the themes were handled, like the resident with memory problems
However, it wasn’t that you were seriously depressed or bored through the episodes, so it was worth watching because you wanted to see how it all unfolded – who stole it, etc.
The casting and acting were fantastic, the photography and locations were well done
I really hope they do another season and bring a great mix of laughs, excitement, writing, locations and cast, like they did in Charles’s next detective-style adventures and this one.
