Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike any they’ve ever encountered before. With the advantage, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance. The creators of the previous films have cited the game’s Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspiration. The film is also inspired by narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993). In the Sonic X television series, Professor Gerald Robotnik was killed by G.U.N. agents. But in this film, he was still alive and reunited with his grandson, Dr. Robotnik. Commander Walters: [about Shadow] Project Shadow goes far beyond anything we’ve seen. Shadow’s story began much like yours, Sonic.
