Eventually, Goldstein talked to Ford and convinced him to take the part
When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford to join the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted someone in the “Harrison Ford” mold and intended to audition people who looked like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they had to at least pitch it to Ford first, thinking he would reject it outright, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had been approached for the project, which had piqued the interest of other big-name actors.
Goldstein still doesn’t understand what he did to convince him, but he was overjoyed nonetheless
Featured on WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 (So Far) (2023) From the reviews I’ve read here, people either love this show or really dislike it, and it seems like that might depend on the reviewers’ reaction to Jason Segal. I’ve enjoyed his movies and think he’s perfect for this role — and adding Harrison Ford takes the show to the next level.
It can be hilarious to the point of tears the next minute
The writing is excellent, the story is fresh, and the characters are original without being too stereotypically weird. The relationships are complex and emotional, and the very real human challenges are well-drawn.
I was really disappointed after the second episode when I realized I’d have to wait for more
Highly recommended!
