In a remote village, two brothers find a man possessed by a demon who is about to "give birth" to evil itself. They decide to get rid of his body, only to end up inadvertently spreading chaos. During a Q&A with the audience after the premiere at Fantastic Fest, director Demian Rugna said that he got the idea for When Evil Lurks from a news series about agricultural pesticides in his native Argentina causing widespread health problems. When Evil StalksWritten by Miguel Roldan (as Miguel Roldan (Logos)) Performed by Pasco 367 Orchestrated & arranged by Pablo Fuu. Seriously underrated film. I watched the original version with Spanish subtitles and I think that’s the best way to watch it. Anyway, if you were expecting gore and horror, prepare to be disappointed, because seriously, this movie delivers! That being said, it has its flaws, first of all, it’s obviously meant to be the start of a franchise (you’ll understand that after watching the cliffhanger ending), yet this little Argentine production is not afraid to hurt anyone’s feelings. I can tell you for sure that this is the best you can get, just don’t expect the sequel to be half as good.
