Michael Schur inspired "A Man On the Inside" after the Chilean documentary "Agent Mole"; he watches
Tale
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private detective’s ad and becomes a mole in a nursing home.
It’s a remake of the film El agente topo (2020)
He says, "Agent Mole" the documentary is powerful because it makes people of any age, ethnicity, or gender feel something very similar, and I would describe that feeling in a very reductive way: “I need to call my mom.” We tried to do something similar with our show with tone: does our show promote the feeling of wanting to call our moms?
I think a lot of fiction is naturally intended to make you think something like, “It was an honor to be a part of these fictional characters” This show undeniably achieves that goal well
Even those looking for a mystery that has received less attention should be captivated by the humanity that comes through not only in the writing but also in the performances of all the characters.
Details on all the departments involved
While Netflix has been tight-lipped about renewing series lately, I hope they fulfill the potential of this show by giving it a season 2, as I can’t wait to see more of these incredible characters’ outings.
