Tale
The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novel about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap a previously planned sequel, Double Cross. When I was driving a truck, I chewed up a lot of highways listening to James Patterson’s Alix Cross, but I don’t remember the story or stories that made this one.
This Detective Cross seemed different from what I remembered
In fact, I think I was his age when he was working with the feds instead of the city police. No less.
This series had one major flaw for me
They seemed to be running too many stories together. It was confusing to see the connections at times.
Other people here have noted how Morgan Freeman’s performance of Cross is different
On top of that, the main bad guy was almost a supervillain because of how well he was set up to reach anyone at any time. I agree, I too would like to see this Cross actually smarter most of the time instead of just in fits and starts.
